A little about us ...
Kids Way provides families with high-quality child care and all-day Preschool, Pre-K, and School-Age Before & After School Program. Kids Way is a Level 3 Early Achievers Participant and partners with the Lake Stevens School District's Pre-K through 3rd Grade Alignment, utilizing David Matteson's Foundation in Literacy and Handwriting Without Tears (the workbooks, music, and tools); the same curriculum used by our school district. Our classrooms follow the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Guidelines for teacher staffing so that children experience individual attention and care throughout the course of their day. We are leaders in the Early Learning Community.
Our loving and educated teachers provide a warm and stimulating environment for your child to learn and play. Our daily routines and curriculum are designed to encourage optimal social, cognitive and physical development.
Kids Way features low student/teacher ratios which allow us to create close bonds with each and every enrolled child.
Our preschool facility is equipped with video web monitoring (allowing families to view their child’s classroom and playground), secured entrances, daily reports with detailed information and photos, and all classrooms are air-conditioned; keeping your child comfortable in even the hottest weather.
(*Kids Way is not a Lake Stevens School District sponsored program and does not receive funding from the school district, nor are we able to participate in ECEAP or the state childcare tuition subsidy program)
Our Philosophy
“Teaching the Way Kids Learn”
Kids Way Philosophy is three-fold. It involves the enrolled children, their families, and our employees.
The Children
Every child is unique and deserves a fulfilling childhood which includes a time to shine. Kids Way is structured to encourage each and every child to reach their highest potential. Kids Way respects all children’s learning styles and the various multiple intelligences. Each and every day your child will be given the time to sing, dance, run, build, read, count, and explore; each area is designed to encourage social, motor, and cognitive development.
Families
Kids Way believes families are the first and most important teachers to their children. No one knows a child better than a child’s family. Kids Way partners with families to create an atmosphere in which both the children and their families are comfortable. Kids Way respects the individual culture of each family and encourages families to share special events or holidays with their child’s teachers; so that it may be included within the curriculum. Families are encouraged to talk with teachers and/or the director with any questions or concerns.
Teachers
Kids Way teachers love children, have a college education in early childhood education, and a firm belief in positive guidance. We focus on teaching children developmentally appropriate ways to problem solve and succeed within the classroom. We are big believers in “catching children being good” and affirming positive behaviors. Our small class sizes allow teachers to develop close bonds with each child. It is our belief that only when a child feels safe and well cared for, is a child able to branch out to reach their highest potential.
